Wow! What a magnificent view!
I miss the peace & the greenery everywhere. I'm happy here in town, but every time a loud motorcycle goes tearing past the house, I think of that meadow.
We were actually pretty happy to leave. We were there 22 years and it never really felt like home.
I really hope you do, too. And no reason you shouldn't.
There were some wonderful things about escaping the big city. Now we've split the difference and live in a big town/small city and it feels like a better fit for us.
Me too! It's an adjustment! But I am sure that I will settle in just fine. Once I get familiar with the area, that will make it all come together. My husband doesn't miss the Island at all. He's loving the peace and quiet and a much easier commute. Quality of life is key at this stage of our lives.
Yes, there are definitely some wonderful benefits when escaping a big city. It sounds like you have found a wonderful balance where you are living now. That makes a big difference

I understand. That is a long time to live someplace and not ever feel like home. I can understand why you were happy to leave. I hope that I come to feel like this is home once we get settled in and decompress. I lived on Long Island my entire life. Time will tell.
