@Alfred Would you require a weathervane to tell which way the wind blows?

I named her Elegia Redshirt after rolling a 2 for hit points. The GM has since bumped her to 8, so she may survive the night.

I was stymied by merciful and cruel, but made up a backstory to solve it: She was orphaned very young, raised by pickpockets, but exiled when the gang leader gave her an ultimatum at 15: be his consort or leave. Now she’s been on her own on the run for years having stolen the leader’s gear on her way out. Having been poor she is merciful and likely to take care of any urchin she comes across, but though hetero, she harbors deep misandry and is absolutely cruel to any man that shows interest.

Rolled up a new character for a new campaign in Knave that starts tonight. The physical traits all came up like slender, luxurious hair, pale skin, stunning face, flowery speech, gorgeous clothing, etc. The virtue came up as merciful, the vice cruel, and hardship exile, and the past as pickpocket.

Just back from a late night showing of Oppenheimer. Wow, that was a lot.

Hey! There's an idea! Why don't you resign, safe in the knowledge that your key demographic, hedge-fund managers, will be able to feather their nests at the expense of the American taxpayer well past your "best-by" date.

I'm calling upon you to resign. You've done your job, secured their blessings; now go.

Have a glass of Three Sticks for me, I hear the Chard 2021 goes great with corruption.

I suppose if the "carried interest" tax loophole comes up again in the next 17 months you'll be there to defend it; but honestly, what are the chances of that with Republicans controlling the House? I think your precious is safe for the remainder of your time in office. So safe in fact, that you probably won't need to lift a finger.

It's that time again! My weekly letter to Kyrsten Sinema!

Senator for the Wealthy:

According to: prospect.org/power/2023-07-20- you are still raking in hundreds of thousands from moneyed interests like Blackstone and Carlyle, despite that fact that your re-election prospects are null and void. It's almost like either they don't recognize a bad investment when they see one, or else they expect to get their money's worth despite your short shelf-life.

Good lord how many family members does this execrable aquatic nightmare circumscribe?!

The streak has ended. The kid next to me just played, out loud, the accursed “Baby Shark”. I had never heard it before, and hope to never come across its like for all times. Times infinity. Squared.

Guy in front of me at the restaurant was being asked by staff if he qualified for any discounts:
S: “Senior?”
G: “Nope”
S: “Military?”
G: “Nope.
S: “First responder?”
G: “Last responder.”
S: “Last responder?!”
G: “Yeah, I’m a mortician. Literally the last one they call.”
