Another in my series of weekly letters to Arizona's senior senator. sinema.senate.gov/contact
Senator Hubris:

You gave such a revealing interview in The Atlantic Monthly this week! First off, you revealed poor judgment in imagining that that interview was going to make you look good, or convince anyone that you are a good representative of Arizona.

Additionally, you reveled your own hubris, self-importance, and the way in which you've elevated your rudderless decision-making beyond party, platform, and your constituents' needs. It appears, based on your own comments in the interview, that without ideology you wait for opportunities to "collaborate" on legislation, then when voters are desperate you pull in credulous Democrats and "centrist" Republicans and remove as much substance as you can get the Democrats to agree to.

FYI, that's not "independence", that's infidelity.

Having given away the game so obviously, it's safe to say you cannot return to Congress. You probably ought to give serious consideration to stepping down early and giving the Governor an opportunity to replace you with someone who will work for Arizonans first, and their own self-aggrandizement last or not at all.

Do what is right for Arizona, for the nation, for the world. Quit.
