Studying for my Poll Inspector & Chairperson Exam tommorrow.
Several lawsuits and challenges by Elise Stefanik, RNC and other Republicans have resulted in NY State Election officials having to change procedures which require us knowing and understanding the new laws.

In addition to reviewing the new procedures (see below) tomorrow there will be a 3hr class to discuss sample issues and review how to habdke these followed by a 1 hr written test. oh what fun!

Since September 11, 2001, the #FDNY has lost more than 360 members to World Trade Center related illnesses. Wednesday, the Department added 32 names to the memorial wall at FDNY Headquarters in Brooklyn. My cousin was one of those 32 heroes who died this year. He is dearly missed.

It was eerily quiet this morning.
I couldnt figure out why until I realized its the 1st day of school and felt a powerful punch to my stomach.

23 yrs ago today I was supposed to be sitting at my desk on a conference call. If it were not for my running buddy, who had accidentally left his wallet at my apt and insisted i turn back to get it so he could pick it up later that morning, I would have been at my desk looking out the window at 9:03am

Instead, I'm sitting here... very sad yet grateful.

I don't have time to knock on doors or phonebank but I can send postcards to registered voters.

As women activists used to say in the early 1960's when they were trying to legalize birth control: The personal is #Political.

In the mid 1970's, when women continued to die from lack of reproductive healthcare & had no right to direct a Dr to tie her tubes... the activists phrase became: The personal is Political until our bodies are free.
