I just got this in my inbox. Had to turn off notifications because i didnt want to get alerted to any more doomsday scenario articles if Repubs force a default. I've lived through 2 of these events and know how bad it was for everyone, not just the economy.

Four members of the far-right group were convicted of seditious conspiracy Monday, joining founder Stewart Rhodes in being found guilty by a jury of plotting to keep President Trump in power by force.
Seditious conspiracy charges are rarely used and even more rarely successful, making the verdict a significant victory for the Justice Dept. Of nearly 1,000 people charged w/crimes @ the Capitol on 1/6, only 14 were charged with seditious conspiracy, identified as violent leaders.
The focus of #Republicans coming into office ... It's not about the economy or the health of it's citizens. Nope, their priority is a culture war.
With 5 Reps changing their votes to Present, McCarthy now has enough votes to be elected Speaker of the House. Finally the nightmare is over!!!
Everyone is congratulating Goetz after he had a 5min conversation with McCarthy. I guess the investigation into Hunter Biden's laptop is back on and he'll vote for Kevin in the 15th round that's starting within the next 10min.
The 14th Vote having been concluded, though Kevin McCarthy gained 1 more vote than previous to be at 216 with only 432 voting. No one having received a majority means no one was elected Speaker of the House.

So many people using paper and pen to count votes. These folks need to use a spreadsheet on their tablet or their phone. Folks get with the program!

Jeffries didn't get enough votes
but McCarthu picked up 3 votes from defectors.
Don't expect a Speaker today, because tonight is a Full moon and the energy in DC is one of anger and frustration.
