The Sendai Daikannon is a large statue located in Sendai, Japan. It portrays a woman, the bodhisattva "White-robed Kannon" bearing the cintamani gem in her hand. At 100M or 330ft its the 8th tallest sculpture in the world.

The Leshan Giant Buddha is a 71M (233 ft) tall carved stone statue, built between 713 and 803 AD. The sculpture depicts Maitreya. In Buddhist prophecy Maitreya (the next and 5th Buddha) will emerge after a time of darkness from war to bring/teach peace to the world.
Maitreya is the Sangha of the faces of all of us.
There is no one Maitreya “out there.” Maitreya is your face, reflected in my face, and verily, in the face of the next person you encounter.
