Cognitive ability, health policy, and the dynamics of COVID-19 vaccination
I've already scheduled my new Covid vox for Monday, first day Walgreens offering the newest updated Vax! This will be my 7th shot for Covid.
Then in a month I'll do the high dose Flu. Another month for the RSV,
@Gladari I'm waiting for all 3 to be offered here. Looks like the RSV one won't be free the others are
My son’s elderly MIL had RSV for 7 weeks last winter. No thanks. Glad I got my vax.
Thanks for info. MSM was only focusing on babies & children with this owe. Now I'll definitely get one!

Thanks for reminder, I have now put it on my calender to schedule all of these tomorrow.

You are welcome. Where I live in the boonies of WV, the local Walgreens makes it really easy to schedule and get vaccines. Consensus seems to be that it's OK to get Covid & Flu shots at the same time. I need to space them out.
Good luck, stay well! 😷💉

Just read CDC report that says both can be given same time. And CVS advises same thing.
I’m pretty lucky with minimal if any side effects. I
see no reason to double up. I’ll be getting them separately. Why stress my body?
Keep masking in public 😷😷😷

i get very sick after each vax so maybe I'll just do 1 at a time.

Some seniors I know get two flu shots. I haven’t resorted to that yet. Got my flu shot early last October. Got flu in March. It was worse than covid
@LnzyHou @Gladari @Bliss @CinnamonGirlE @NorthernInvader The flu vaccine is a vaccine against a few strains deemed in advance to be likely for the next season. It doesn’t protect against all circulating strains and if the guess is wrong it may not have much effect at all. Effectiveness for the flu vaccine is 60% or less each year. Still, I get it each year, offers SOME protection. 🤷♂️

Good information Pika!
I also learned an interesting factoid on how they decide which strains to protect against. They use the predominant strains that Australia has in the current year (our Summer is their Winter), so they are enough ahead with their Flu Season that we use that data when producing ours.

And do Aussies use our prevalent flu at the end of our season to formulate their next year's vax? 🤔
@FireMonkey @GrazingintheGrass @LnzyHou @Bliss @CinnamonGirlE @NorthernInvader
Good question. IDK. Maybe some of our friends from there could answer that one.

After 20+ yrs of flu shots and no flu until this year, I must be profoundly lucky.
@LnzyHou @GrazingintheGrass @Bliss @CinnamonGirlE @NorthernInvader
I never used to get the flu shot. Had it only once & that was in High School! Only started getting it a couple of years ago when I became aware of the high dose senior shot.
@Bliss @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @NorthernInvader
I haven't gotten sick so far, but I do get a burning, itchy rash on my arm after each of my 6 (so far) Covid shots - why I space them out.
Looking at the timing from the CDC of when the illnesses start spreading it looks like I'll get the RSV next, then the Senior Flu shots.
