Teachers in Florida and Texas are fleeing en mass, so I wonder how parents will feel when the schools don’t stay open all day due to lack of staff?
I feel like the parents are going to be awful mad when they have to take time out of work to care for their kids.
Vote for clowns, expect a circus.
@BlastBunny It is far too much to ask for them to think through the consequences of their hateful actions. When a person is so filled with unreasoning hate, it must be hard to understand anything else.
It reminds me of Kansas under brown back where Republicans defunded the state education system and schools weren’t able to be open all week and the parents WHO VOTED FOR THE REPUBLICANS (Who ran on cuts to education) and Hines about the quality of schools.
They never care till it effects them.
@BlastBunny it’s going to be like during the pandemic when some parents whined about kids being underfoot because they had become so used to depending on the school “babysitting” them until a certain time.
When Beto was campaigning for governor, he really missed out on a key issue that matters to rural conservatives: School choice.
The GOP is pushing for it. But folks in rural areas recognize that it means budget cuts for education, less money for public schools--and it's always the schools in rural counties that close first...
Same with hospitals.
Talked to a con once and they were completely against Obamacare.
Pointed out the rural hospital closures in his area and gave him the data that rural conservatives live a lot less time than blue counties.
Still didn’t care, he was ready to die for his ignorance.
He died a few years back from heart issues, before he kicked it he had to drive about an hour one way for cardiac checkups.
But also it only takes one parent to completely fuck your existence.
You have sowed Texas, now you must reap.
@BlastBunny Well, Florida is coping by lowering standards for teachers, so there’s that. Sure that’s screwing kids over long term but at least they won’t be “indoctrinated”, whatever that means, right?
