I didn't get a buck but my hunting partner got the only buck we saw in 5 days of mule deer hunting. Up till midnight gutting and skinning at 5 degrees and 11000 ft altitutde. I'm thrashed!!!

I felt the same after one person in our 3-person party got an elk. Lots of subsequent work.

@mikeflstfi went elk hunt8ng last year now am GLAD I didn't get one with limited resources to back and pack...3 people still means a lot of work! Respect.
@mikeflstfi At least you had horses! I was planning on packing the whole thing out with several trips with another gal...insane.

We dressed and quartered it where we got it, but had to go back with horses the next day to pack out the quarters. It was the hardest hunting I've done.
