It has definitely been a banging my head against the wall type of day.
Highlight of my day some guy that has all these certs in cybersecurity and used to work for DoD came to ask me a question because IBM is coming to consult. I am like the fuck dude. Last time i programmed anything it was in Fortran. Why are you asking me? He thought i worked in cyber things. Like my dude, I help with engineering. I help with economics and stuff but that's your job. This wasn't some kid either was like a 40 year old pretty high up.
Its always the same.
If you're around long enough they think you know everything. This is my cybersecurity knowledge of the day. He's running some big box with an issue. They're sending someone from IBM. Take EVERY GODDAMN not IBM brand name but compatible piece off that f*cker. Cuz the first thing their consultant will say is well here's your problem, not ibm product. And if they put ibm tape on or whatever it will be, well the problem is what you were running on there before. Hide everything in the closet.
