At this point, I'll be genuinely surprised if Elon remains CEO or even owner by the end of 2023.

If Elon does relinquish being CEO/the owner, he'd try to do it in the most covert way possible to maintain his reputation among his rabid fans.

>Only 0.2% of Twitter users signed up for Twitter Blue
>Elon Musk wants to charge companies $1000/month to keep their golden checkmarks
>Elon Musk wants to charge people for access to the Twitter API in order to "control bad bots" (even though malicious bots don't use to the Twitter API)

Elon is so hilariously desperate to recoup the money he paid for Twitter. While Twitter has been a money pit for years, Elon has increased how much money Twitter is losing by orders of magnitude.

Apparently right wing culture warriors are mad that they can't make ChatGPT say racial slurs and whatnot. They made up some hilariously ridiculous hypothetical where they would supposedly be given moral permission to say slurs (ChatGPT wasn't designed to make political/moral decisions and isn't sentient).

They really want to be told they're right for being bigoted weirdos and it's those meanie lefties who are wrong. Or at the very least they really want to turn ChatGPT into Tay 2.0.

>A few days ago Musk tweets about visiting Twitter datacenter and unplugging random server racks
>The desktop/web app version of Twitter is now down with reports of users being randomly logged off

I'm sure this is all just a big coincidence :V

Apparently Mozilla is testing a new dark theme in the latest Nightly builds of Firefox. Mozilla made the user-chrome area a comparatively much lighter shade of gray and the contrast between the address bar and the rest of the user-chrome is significantly reduced.

I personally do not like it. I think the shade of gray they chose for the user-chrome is too light for a dark theme and there is not enough contrast between the address bar and the rest of the user-chrome.

Apparently the FBI put a warning out that cyber criminals are abusing search engine ad systems by impersonating legitimate companies in order to steal people's credentials and whatnot.

Stuff like this is one of the reasons I use an ad blocker in the first place. If various mainstream sites did a better job in vetting their ads and didn't bombard us with them when visiting a site there would be less of a need for them. Just use the YouTube app if you want a demonstration of this.

As usual, Conservatives are projecting harder then an IMAX theater. Either dismissing the documented scandals as lies or that said scandals are a blip compared to the apparent rampant molestation and abuse coming from members of the LGBTQ community.

When Conservatives cannot find a legitimate reason to go after a group of people they rely on loaded accusations such as "pedophile" and "abuser" to get people on their side. They know abusing minors is one of the most revolting things you can do.

Person: "I don't get why Conservatives act like pedophiles and abusers are so rampant in the LGBTQ community. Why don't they pay attention to the Catholic Church or Boy Scouts of America where there's been documented sex pest/abuse scandals?"

Conservatives: "THERE'S NOTHING UNIQUELY WRONG ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OR BOY SCOUTS! THE PROBLEM IS CREATING A PROTECTED CLASS FREE FROM CRITICISM LIKE YOUR PRECIOUS TRANNIES! WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF LIBS!? WHY DO YOU DEFEND PEDOPHILES!?"

Twitter is now banning any account that promotes a competing social media platform (ex: Mastodon) and is blocking users from posting "Hey follow me at [insert social media platform(s) here]". This is very obviously Elon Musk just corn-cobbing some more.

Like banning those journalists he will likely walk back on this decision as well (especially since blocking links to competitors is illegal in the EU).

It's my birthday today. I'm 29 years old today. One more year and I'll be a 30 year old boomer :V

On one hand, it's obvious that pundits like Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens are taking advantage of Ye's mental breakdown for money/attention. That part is tragic/sympathetic.

On the other hand, there's only so much you can attribute to Ye's untreated Bipolar. Ye is still a grown adult and mental illness does not make one a bigot and it does not make one violent.

It's funny how Conservative pundits have been twisting themselves in knots to downplay/excuse Ye's antisemitic rants and then Ye goes on InfoWars and basically says "I love Hitler". Jones offered him a way to maintain "plausible deniability" and Ye refused.

Now Conservative pundits can't decide whether Ye is a psyop by the Democrats/FBI or "based and red-pilled" for the antisemitic rant. The former is basically just like "Ye, you're not supposed to be THAT obvious!"

Just finished setting up this account as another "safety net" in case Twitter completely goes down, becomes unusable (the bot problem has gotten notably worse since Musk took over), or all the accounts I follow there migrate elsewhere.

Interesting that this site has a Tweet Deck style UI by default. I get why some would like this but I feel it's a bit of information overload.
