Hi everyone 😊

Some music y'all post might not be my thing, but I always appreciate being introduced to music that's new to me. So, thank you. 💞

Canis, our friend Governor Slugwell (on Twitter) worked with Mose Allison for over a decade as a road manager. He would sit in on guitar as needed.

Note, when the above song was released in 1979 on a Liverpool compilation LP, it was titled "Monkies." In 1978 & 1979, the band was using "Echo," a drum machine.

This is 100% true. 😎

Roland Corp gave Tony, Mike, Phil a 1st-gen drum machine circa ‘79 and it became almost as ubiquitous as the Padgham/Lillywhite “gated reverb.”

Also — L Shankar is on “Face Value” so 🤷🏻‍♂️🤓

@CanisPundit

Haven't heard Cactus mentioned in a long time 🎶

Thanks Lisa. You are a good egg, even if things didn't work out w/ Trey. ;-)

You can tell that I love most genres of music, I want a buffet of styles.

Backatcha, Bixie. 💞 I was raised to appreciate all music genres, and I'm glad I was.

I'll always have a special bond with Trey. We share custody of a couch so we learned how to make it work. 😎

When compact discs first came out, I couldn't afford many of them. So, I could only buy a few of them, Rush & the best of Al Green[❤️❤️]. Then, I collected New Wave and Power Pop [Cheap Trick rules].
Now, I try to collect most genres - in CD, FLAC or MP3 320KBpS formats.

notes

Once in a while, I think that Cheap Trick At Budokan: The Complete Concert is the greatest rock CD that I own.

This nuclear A-bomb wasn't even on the 1978 LP.

Bix - did you ever hear the redone version of In Color that they did with Steve Albini as producer? The story I heard was that they weren't happy with the way the original version (produced by Tom Werman) came out, so they went back into the studio with Steve Albini and redid it. Here's the Albini produced version of I Want You To Want Me

Thanks, Bob.
Yes, I have played them before via Youtube. I think that I forgot to add them to my collection.

I tell people that Cheap Trick is the gold standard of putting out great LP's in a row. Of course, there is Zeppelin.

Yeah but Page/Plant wrote “Hot Dog,” so…

And what is this oblique reference — more mud shark-esque antics? 😱🤷🏻‍♂️🤓

Note, I have never played this LP, Lap of Luxury, until now. It is bad as compared to their best LPs.

Of course most of you suspected there was gonna be a Zappa connex here, right?

Of course you did.

Arthur Barrow!

(Pssst, D Man...Art is a Texan and went to school with Chris Geppert AKA Cross. That's a different story.)

About a 1/4 of the way down...

Not dumb, just a little insensitive, but it was minor...99% of the time you are thoughtful and kind. 😊😎❤️

Thanks, Canis.
A fav song of mine.
