Been working on my new album most of this year. I submitted it for distribution yesterday and I can’t stop listening to it. It is completely surreal to listen to the final versions after having listened to incomplete ones for so long.

I make art and I really want to share it with the world. The cruel reality is that I need to use social media a lot to get the message out. Especially the shitty ones. It is soul crushing. But coming back here to escape makes it all ok.

Recently came back into possession of this painting of mine. It is one of my favorites. Happy to be reunited with it and be able to hang it up. #painting

If you are the richest person in your town and there is poverty and homelessness in your town you should feel ashamed.

My editor is amazing and we have a great working relationship. She is supportive but challenges me and I really feel like she understands my voice. On my most recent story, All Manner of Beast & Man, she wanted me to add the word “fucking” to a line of inner monologue. It was the right call and definitely the way I would have written it, it was just funny seeing the word handwritten onto my manuscript in editing notation.

So I am still a little perplexed as to how my latest book ended up on Barnes and Nobles’s website. Self publishing through Amazon does offer “extended distribution” to other retailers but that isn’t a guarantee. Doing a bit of research suggests that you have to make a marketing proposal to B&N, which I didn’t do. It seems like this was a deliberate choice by someone as none of my other #books are on there. Either way, it is pretty cool! Feeling really good about this.
