Just got up from sleeping, and I had a rather inspiring dream for a project.

The downside, I feel like the flu is coming for me next.

My agenda for the day (for accountability purposes):

- Finish the laundry I started at midnight.
- Go back to sleep once the older kid is on the bus.
- Try to write some words.

That's it. That's the plan. I'm not going to bother to do anything else productive. I spent all of that energy yesterday.

My sick child had a night terror...while throwing up. It was like something out of the exorcist. When he finally woke up and I told him what happened (and that he needed to shower) his eyes were O_O.

So...I'm tired.

@NikkiBuschEdit Yeah, that's the stage I'm at right now. I've been having a hard time writing for a long time, and I need to just...enjoy it. Even if it sucks, lol.

@NikkiBuschEdit I like writing without abandon and worry about what I'm putting to "paper". Helps me not over analyze all my work.

33k is an AMAZING number!

Got 1600 words done, and I'm just shy of 19k on my project. I'm so determined to win this. Good thing I've still got a week to try! I'll be a winner if I even make it halfway.

I took a long, deep nap this afternoon and I'm feeling so refreshed. Looks like I'll be home again tomorrow with my sick kiddo. This both relieves me and stresses me out at the same time.

Time to get back to words.

@Mort I knew there was some trick to it, but I couldn't remember what it was! Thanks

While the kiddo is sick and the hubby is at work, I've invaded the man cave for my writing space instead of my usual zone (which is where the sick kid is). The cat is yelling at me to get out because ThIs IsN't ThE wAy We Do ThInGs!

@jodipugliese Yeah, I'm going to offer to take him to the field trip spot later when he's better. Just the two of us. That might soften the blow a little. Might watch a movie with him instead. Depends on how he's feeling.

Just realized my sick child has a field trip tomorrow, so when I tell him he's going to have to miss it (probably) I expect there to be devastation

So far I've:

-- Mopped my floor
-- Cleaned out my winter gear bucket
-- Did a load of laundry

Trying to stay positive so I don't worry about the kiddo.

Hit18k. Goal is to get to 20k before the end of the day. Ideally, I'll go beyond that.

It seems Youngest has the flu. Covid was negative, so this is my educated Mommy guess. Time to keep catching up on things at home. And by things I mean writing. I'll be writing.

@Nika I understand. I almost didn't but I've done it for so long it felt wrong to not try.

And thank you!

Hit 17k in my project. I'm woefully behind, but I'm breaking for the night. Tomorrow will be a better day. Outlined my next story arch, so I'm feeling a lot better about this project.

Remember self: It's just a first draft.

1200 words down so far. I hope I can keep this steam all week despite the day job getting in the way.

I think I'm the only nerd on . Or the only one who's tagging it at least.

Okay, is on in the background and I've got my timer set. The reward? Playing "Sackboy Adventure" later tonight after I've accomplished some kind of word count.
