That future where we undertook the great human endeavour of comprehending each other and the whole universe together.

Over my lifetime, that future, has been slipping farther and farther away. For a while I believed we would find a way to circle back to it. Now I find that much harder to believe. How could we possibly get there from where we are, where everything evil is regarded as 'virtuous'?

I'm not mourning a specific event. I'm mourning the loss of what could have been.
