Are iPhone users really so insanely shallow that they actually care what color someone's bubble is?
@AskNick It's more a problem of basic compatibility in text-based communication, as I understand it. Emoji reactions are the most obvious example, but there are serious problems with Apple's messaging platforms when it communicating with anyone who isn't using Apple products.
@AskNick THe different color bubbles from other services have tags and styling chopped out so the experience is worse.
Tim Cook, when asked about their choice to deliberately hamstring external messages, said basically "if they want their messages to be rich, they should buy an iPhone"
@AskNick I've never heard of anyone (seriously) "shaming" about bubble color; but there are complaints about cross-platform. "Why does this video look like crap?" - "Because Jim in the group chat has an Android."
