Does anyone here has mysophonia?
soup slurping make you wanna punch throw a wall
with your head?
@Armchaircouch I dunno, I'd probably claim I actually _had_ been drinking.๐
well, does red wine for health count as drinking? @MakerWerks
@Armchaircouch Yes, that's drinking with a specified goal!
@Armchaircouch Yes I do. Apparently it comes in the ADHD download bundle.
Oh, really! Iโve not heard that before but yup checks that box for me, @stueytheround
@Armchaircouch We have to have music or TV on during mealtimes so I don't kill anyone!
๐๐ same when i eat at my moms!! I always have to put music on, sheโs like
What are you doing?
I say Iโm sorry I CANT eat in silence ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ @stueytheround
@Armchaircouch my dogs make a high pitched whine at just the right frequency to annoy me if they want to. I think it starts just outside of my hearing range and then fades in. Lol
@chaddus2_0 @Armchaircouch gonna have to think about soup ๐ฒ differently, now ๐
Oh no way ๐ silly pups!! โฅ๏ธ
Then what do you do? @chaddus2_0
@Armchaircouch I make my annoyed face. So, they do it again. ; )
@chaddus2_0 @Armchaircouch Thereโs usually something more to their agenda, they just know what finally gets me moving, so they use it.
Lol! Itโs a symbiotic relationship then :) โฅ๏ธ @chaddus2_0
@Armchaircouch Of sorts, yes.
*you feed me, you walk me; I bark at stuff for you.*
๐ I love doggos, yours sound like my cats only they donโt barkโฆ haha @chaddus2_0
@Armchaircouch Theyโve been great companions for sure. Funny how you get to know one another, even when youโre from different species. : )
๐ฏ Itโs very special โฅ๏ธ @chaddus2_0
@Armchaircouch agreed ๐
@Armchaircouch Our daughter does and it's pretty bad. She's always had issues from being a toddler with flushing toilets making her cry to now getting annoyed at us if we eat and the TV is off (she said the sound of chewing sounds 'metallic').
The latest trigger is our Great Pyrenees, Kuma. Two neighbours have each just got new dogs (Pit Bull & German Shepherd), so Kuma is barking almost constantly. While it's annoying us, it's making Caitlin burst into tears because it hurts her so much. ๐
Oh no thatโs rough, poor thing :(
I have a similar annoyance when the extremely loud gardeners come but i can shut all the windows, or I leave. Itโs super aggravating.
Caitlin canโt leave though, I wonder if thereโs a way to make the dog sensitive to her sensitivity? @BillyBones
@Armchaircouch Darling daughter has it. Fight or flight when someoneโs eating Doritos, clunking keyboards, and yes, slurping soup. Teen years were tough as it wasnโt well known. Audiologist helped.
How did the audiologist help?
Yes I have these same โtriggersโ I have to leave the room as quickly as possible lol @ACG2
Donโt get me started. Eating sounds out me into not fight or flight, but FIGHT. It has been a huge challenge in getting a grip on my wired responses. And Iโm still not there. My husband never believed me till he read about it somewhere.
๐ Itโs a serious thing!! I canโt get a grip. I have to leave the room if possible (I used to share an office with my work partner and the moment he opened up the soup container I had to evacuate. There was just no way!) , or I just have to start making a lot of noise, what is just weird ๐๐itโs so BAD @ATXJane
@Armchaircouch for me it's open mouth chewing. Close mouth chewing is fine, but open mouth makes me rage.
My biggest one is off key music. If the note is sour, I get physically uncomfortable. Makes me super picky about live bands, sadly. Oh, and those talent shows. I have to leave the room. Yay ADHD. ๐ฌ๐
๐ so many typos i swear iโm not drank
