๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ driving in the mountains, hit the edge of a sharp road edge. tire got shredded ๐ญ my poor girl.
I am so grateful there is still reception out here! Geico is coming to my rescue.
Henceforth immediately, I am putting a cordless power drill in my truck, so that next time I can get the Lugnuts off myself!!!! if I did not have cell service, I wouldโve been stranded 30 miles from town and who knows heโs living out here if I had to go knock on someoneโs door a mile away!!
feeling sad but lucky.
@Armchaircouch oh my goodness!!! Iโm so glad youโre alright ๐ โค๏ธ
Ugh that sounds so stressful! Iโm glad youโre safe and service will be there soon ๐
Ping back when youโre safe and sound?
โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ thanks yโall!
will doโฆ @Minholkin @altamaha
back on the flatlands! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Thank you for caring :)
Iโm getting a freaking taco. lol @Minholkin @altamaha
hahhaa they were goood
(and a fleet! A fleet of tacos sounds amazing lol!)
Happy Friday! โ๏ธ
@altamaha @Minholkin
@Armchaircouch that is really lucky! Hopefully everything works out.
@Armchaircouch
Impact driver, hon... Though I have no recommendation than what I find on Amazon as highly rated with three most reviews.. And if you're serious... A small 3ton floor jack...
Those scissor jacks they put in cars these days are garbage...
yes, definitely a better Jack. Also it was interesting. He just use a long metal pipe along with the lug nut tool to wrench them off, he did not even have the power tool. Leverage!. educational, lol @InvaderGzim
@Armchaircouch
Yep. Had to go buy a 5ft pipe last year for the same reason...
Had to change the tire on one of the kid's friend's car... Very helpful...
So pipe and Jack then... ๐
I Am glad you're good... Be safe out there...
@Armchaircouch so glad you were able to cell. Add a can of wd40 or something that helps ease the release to the list? And a blanket my knees don't like a tire change anymore.
Hope you reward yourself tonight!
A blanket! and the WD-40 thank you those Re both great tips! I am so loading that in my underseat area. Because I didn get under the truck at first, not knowing how to release the spare tire and the gravel was horrific lol! Also, would have been helpful if I had ended up changing the tire, for sure ๐๐ผ @damselfly59
@Armchaircouch @damselfly59 If you have a racejack or one with a detachable handle it makes a good cheater bar to slide over the lug-wrench.
@MrGoat ๐ฏ @Armchaircouch
I donโt know what a racetrack or a cheater bar is .. @MrGoat @damselfly59
@Armchaircouch @MrGoat @damselfly59
cheater bar? that's where *CHAD* is...fucking Chad... ๐ก
@opie ๐ ๐ ๐คฃ @Armchaircouch @MrGoat
@MrGoat @damselfly59 @opie @Armchaircouch Just go easy with that. I put one on a vice handle and the vice block shattered, shrapnel everywhere nearly took off my damned head.
lmao not sure what that guy in the front thinks heโs doing to help but ok โฆ
and ah yes ok ty. yeah the guy who came to help had this cheater bar, it worked well for him. Wishing I had given it to go to see how easy it made it for myself. @MrGoat @damselfly59 @opie
@Armchaircouch @MrGoat @opie
Goat has it right, the longer the bar the better the leverage
haha! @opie @MrGoat @damselfly59
Amazon/ napa has breaker bars for lugnuts
A 24" bar that gives you torgue leverage for changing tires
@damselfly59 @Armchaircouch my jack handle is 36inches - ez mode
@MrGoat all abut easy and for a truck makes sense @Armchaircouch
@Armchaircouch I can't tell you how many times. I roll remote too so have a bigger checklist if you want to be bored sometime๐ค
I do want to be bored! lol! @damselfly59

thank you so much!! I love it, Iโd never have thought of a fold up shovel but thatโs smart. One thing I also need to add is a small chainsaw. for If a small enough tree goes down.โฅ๏ธ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ thank you, Iโm gunna make one!! @damselfly59
@Armchaircouch And if there's room, I can not recommend highly enough having a good trolley jack. Expensive, but it means changing a wheel takes a few minutes and *much* less effort.
hmmm looking into that, it sounds like it might have been the kind that the guy had who came to help me. ty! @stueytheround @damselfly59
@Armchaircouch great news your safe!
