Last work day before the 3-day holiday weekend. I'm able to work from home, so not fighting traffic later. Enjoying some rich chocolate cake with my coffee. Expecting little to no major activity as a large portion of the staff are taking leave. Happy Friday!

Credit scores are a garbage metric. Just got an alert that my credit score dropped 10 points. Why? Because I paid off the credit account for my new windows. The account closed because it was a term loan. Why TF does that LOWER my credit rating?

Seriously, that is why people hate the banking and finance industry. They make up reasons why you are awful no matter what you do.

So, not sure what's going to get accomplished this week at work. Lots of things "need to be done", but none are in my control Most of it involves getting other people to do their thing before I can do mine. Some are out of the office, with no indication as to when they are back. It may not be much of anything over the next 2 weeks.

Maybe I'll "experiment" with some code (in a purely safe environment). No, nothing that will go to production. Just me trying to learn something.

So there is a very real chance that I will start off the new year in employment limbo. Not in a bad way, just in a "the contract paperwork isn't done" kind of way. I don't know what that's going to entail. Hoping it's just some bridge approval to continue working, with some remote work complexity. I've been assured things are okay. Still, it's a touch stressful.

For the 13th day of Christmas my true love gave to me...6 months of cleaning service after all those !@#$% animals and whatnot wrecking the place.

House GOP want closed door hearings so they can lie in public about what when on. Hunter Biden demanding public hearings is him being open to the questions, but demands accountability.

House GOP voting to go forward investigating President Biden for impeachment process is quite honestly demanding a criminal investigation to search for evidence of a crime that has no other indicators. It's a fishing expedition at tax payer expense.

And I will still have 3 weeks of accrued leave for some vacations this year while still accruing more at my regular rate. I'm going to take actual leave next year? Heck yeah.

So my company is asking me to cash out about 3 weeks worth of excess accrued leave. What should I spend it on?

Trick question, that money was just recently spent on home a home remodeling project. Not that I didn't have the money to do that already, just means I'm not touching my regular liquid cash surplus for it.
