Wow, I really just saw someone send a ticket to our helpdesk "demanding" that the BIOS be modified to enable function that are disabled for security reasons. The real kicker was that this was an angry screed about how "things always worked this way before". No, person, they didn't. And if they are disabled for security, they stay disabled unless you can show cause. The "but I want it this way" line just doesn't fly.
Not my circus, not my monkey, but I know the clown.
Not sure about where YOU work, but having BEEN that person, I'd say you're not entirely wrong. They're half Clown, half Ringmaster. "All eyes on me", but "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain".

No, that's full clown BS.
You do NOT put in an official service request that kind of language. This is the sort of thing senior management sees. Personally, I hope their request gets rejected.
I meant the IT is part Clown, you have to entertain people...but yeah. That's really stupid of them, both to request it, AND to phrase things like a little child having a temper tantrum.
I hope they get the spanking they deserve.
@ArcturusSaDiablo
You could really twist them with a reply like, "Actually, your computer doesn't have a BIOS; it has a UEFI. So I can't help you. Goodbye."
