What will 4-8" do in Death Valley? Besides lots of mud. There is no place for water to go.

I'd be surprised if they get that much. The mountains will strip most of the moisture out of the air. All that water will be flowing down the windward side of the mountain ranges.
@AlphaCentauri The Parks are getting ready for a mud disaster. Even if they get a couple of inches, that will be a mess for them.
