I don’t know if anyone notices that I now try to add where I copied a picture from when I post. A few weeks ago, I was blocked by an account here that thought I was plagiarizing them. It didn’t help that I used the exact four words they did so I get it. In reality, I had forgotten that I had saved it from CoSo and my brain had remembered the words used. (I didn’t save that part of the post) So lesson learned. I always check the info on my saved pictures before I post and then cite it for you.

Thank you—I appreciate that effort but regret that someone misunderstood your intent.
I’ve seen my photos circle back a few times and just gave the benefit of the doubt 💙😔

@Minholkin Once you put it out in the wild, you automatically lose control of how it's used.

I guess to me, trying to police the web for credit is a kind of toxic hubris.

That's what watermarks are for. ;) @Novels56

Very few things people post are their original content, but if I see someone is a creator, I don't share their stuff. (When I create stuff, I get a kick out of it if anyone shares. I don't need to be recognized, though I would not like it if anyone else claimed to have been the creator.)

FWIW if I post images they're often original or derivative works. I consider it all up for grabs, as in CC0 (pubic domain). Maybe I'll put that in my profile.
