@Susan21Marie IMHO store brand seems ok for cooking, passable for baking. Good butter for spreading.
If it's not rancid, you can boil it down for ghee. You just keep it at a low simmer until all the water boils out the and foam clears. When the solids on the bottom start to brown, remove it from the heat and strain it. It keeps without refrigeration for a while and gives foods a richer flavor.
