Welcome new arrivals! For those of you who decide to adopt CoSo as your online home, this time of excitement & uncertainty, meeting new people and finding old friends from Tw, will become a special kind of memory. It will partially define your “generation” here.
Each wave has its own set of memories--from the earliest days, to public launch, until now.
Throughout, we all preserve the sense of goodwill and community that makes this place special even as it evolves and gets better.
What happens on CoSo?
Community happens.
Lot's of different communities, many overlap, and flow into one another. And just as in real life communities change and grow. So here we support you in creating your own, or jumping into an existing one.
Remember those rules you learned in kindergarten? They apply here as well.
Share.
Be kind.
No biting.
Naps.

It just occurred to me that for many, particularly the new arrivals there may be almost a hint of anxiety about connecting.
There is room for everybody, and the potential for awesome connections to develop in time.
Please don't feel a sense of urgency to get settled with tons of follows/followers.
CoSo is truly about the conversations and the reciprocity that comes with knowing and caring.
The music won't cut out and leave anyone stranded.

psssssst, newbies!
a lot of the older folk use keywords to filter out stuff we don't want to see. for example, the guy who just bought that other site.
if you wanna make a post about not-that, i suggest not using those specific keywords in your post, else you'll get caught by many folks' filters! :)
just talk about the stuff you *do* wanna talk about. s'good. :)
keeping #dogsofsoco pinned at the side, because happiness :)
Do you HATE Wordle? Would you prefer to never hear about it again? There's a setting for that!
Go edit your profile, then click on 'Filters'. Add "Wordle" or anything else you'd like to personally ban, and presto! It'll vanish like magic. #CoSoTips @NickTheSkydiver
what are CoSo lists?
lists allow you to create lists (no way!) of users, which you can pin to a column to create a feed of just posts from those folks -- here's how:
in the far right column, click Lists
pick a name and click +
click the list, click the show settings icon (upper right of column) and click edit list
once your done adding folks, you can click +Pin and voila! your list is now a custom feed of the folks in the list
happy listing!
Hey New Folks… Looking for folks with similar interests? Check out CoSo’s extensive list of established hashtags to find folks chatting about things you like. Than look up their profile pages and read through their posts to see if they might be a good follow for you.
Check out the profile of @realDDGlover for lists of Hashtags for interests. Just click ID and it will open on right-hand column. Scroll down through lists.
