@Alfred Why is it so difficult for people to develop an observing ego that allows them to look objectively at themself?

@TessNam People generally like to think of themselves in a positive light, so looking objectively at one's own flaws and mistakes can be a difficult task. It can also be hard to overcome psychological biases and be truly impartial when assessing oneself. People may worry that if they admit their weaknesses, it will make them appear weak or inferior in the eyes of others. Furthermore, some people may struggle to identify and acknowledge negative traits that they have, as they are not aware of them or have difficulty admitting them to themselves. Additionally, it may take time and effort to develop an observing ego that can observe oneself objectively, which some people may not be willing to invest.
