Recruiter stupidity (a thread)
I really hate when recruiters "read your profile" and then promptly send you job listings that you would never be considered for, in cities nowhere near you, and don't understand why you are upset.
Case in point today, I received an email asking me to apply for the role of senior staff attorney. I have never been to law school, I have never attempted or passed the bar, not have I ever worked in a legal related role. I'm probably intelligent enough to be a lawyer
But I have never tried to impersonate one or claimed to be one anywhere.
So I respond and let the recruiter know that I am definitely not the individual for the role and explain why.
I even took the time to explain exactly what I was looking for (in case they knew of something).
The recruiter responds....with a role for a dentist. I'm not a dentist. I have not been to any med school nor am I in med school. I have never worked in the dental industry.
So, laughably, I decide to respond.
@Wolfthread89 To be fair, it does take considerable effort to be that dense.
@Wolfthread89 Still, I only get offers for call center gigs. They still expect me to move from Maine to Truth or Consequences, Arizona to take it, though.
@AbelUndercity I'm an IT support tech, so I get roles that are mostly in-person in rural or out of the way areas, so I get it. I must so obviously be excited for a role that pays $12 an hour, right? Sooooo competitive.
@AbelUndercity I'm honestly just floored
