I fought for treatment and respect for members of my community that were dying from a deadly virus while republicans laughed, the US president dismissed us, and religious leaders condemned us.
I'm witnessing my #transgender siblings demonized, demoralized, and targeted by a party obsessed with genitalia.
America just reelected a rapist and down ballot candidates who target minorities.
I'm tired.
I'm angry.
I'm stressed.
Don't fucking tell me to take a moment to breathe.

Murder was bad enough. The violent nature of it made me sick to my stomach. It's seared in my memory.
@Samanthabwriter I did a "31 days of holiday movies" list on FB last year. One of the things that got me into the spirit of the season was watching films that cover holidays or traditions I wasn't very familiar with. One of those is a film called The Black Candle. It's a 2008 documentary narrated by Maya Angelou about the history of Kwanzaa.
