I love cover versions of songs. It's really interesting to hear other people's interpretations of stuff. I do a bit of it myself (may post something one of these days), and I usually start by checking out what other people have done.

@JackSprack If you're liking punky versions of songs, here's one you might like. I first heard this in college, years ago on a friend's dodgy underground CD. Thing I've noticed with a lot of Prince's music is, it's like there's some potentially great out and out rock stuff there, but it's like there's sort've 'musical bondage' element - there where it feels like it's deliberately kept a bit restrained

@66ALW99 Prince didn't like that cover, as Dave explained. So much so, that it was agreed that when the Foo album came out, that cover track was not allowed on the US release.
@JackSprack I respect Prince's music, but tbh, from what I've heard, it sounds like the man himself was kind've a dick.
@66ALW99 😂 For sure - but, he was an artist dick, very much engrossed in his art and music; those kind of folks get a pass.
