Roughly 6 years ago...
I signed up to reserve my user name.
Days, weeks later I came here to scream into a void, assuming it was empty like the other mastodon instances I was on.
I came here to vent about a programming language I was having a hard time with.
And then something strange happened.
I was welcomed into the community.
I was welcomed.
Online
On social media.
This changed everything. I came back. And kept coming back. Then I found friends. And a tribe.
^^ and this is the reason that, if I visit the fire hose and see an egg, I'll welcome them in.
I might not always have as much energy as I once had, but I still feel it's important.
