Please don't use URL shorteners.
And please, for your sake, don't click on shortened URLs. Criminals often utilize them to obfuscate/legitimize web addresses that would otherwise be dead giveaways that the link is malicious.

It is maddening that there is an "in" thing happening in some tech areas of using URL shorteners for various real-time audience participation.
These people code websites and webware for a living, they should know better.
But it's HIP.
