ON this date in 1900 - The U.S. Senate consented to the Anglo-German treaty of 1899, by which the U.K. renounced rights to the Samoan islands.

Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple concurred to the treaty as they were USC Trojan grads and they could already see the 'pipeline' that would be created by these huge Samoan lineman dudes coming thru USC to play football and then heading to the NFL...

It just made sense!
