Gun control begins in the home.
I found someone's loaded pistol in between my couch cushions. Where they forgot it after showing it off to someone.
So I bring it to them and they're like "Oh yeah, where was that?"
We had a teaching moment that began with "The fact that you don't know where it was is why you are in trouble."

This is one of the many reasons why CC licenses should require demonstration of safe handling, including the use of a proper holster. There are some excellent pocket holsters made for those who prefer to carry that way. When used properly, that firearm isn't coming out of your pocket by accident.

I was at a supermarket a couple years back chatting with an older gentleman and his wife. He was a military vet, I forget which branch.
A little later I saw him bend down to grab something from a low shelf, and I could see he had a revolver in the back pocket of his very loose-fitting jeans. It was almost falling out. I could have taking his weapon and used it against him before he had realized anything had happened.
