I was picked on in grade school. For three years, I was the New Kid. Geek with a weird last name and thick nerd glasses.

"Turn the other cheek. Don't let them see it bothers you." Mom said.

One day, the bullies surrounded me on the playground. Not seeing anywhere to flee, I squared up to the biggest bully, and punched him right in the face. Dropped like potatoes. Took a step to my left, and punched the next kid. Dropped.

winding up on the third kid, they all pounced on me, but I slipped away

And they looked like a cartoon cloud of shoes and fists.

When the teachers broke it up, the bullies tried to blame me for starting it, but they said "How? He's over there on the swings."

They saw what I did, but never said anything.

And the bullies never picked on me again.

Sometimes, going low is the right course of action.

No matter what your mother taught you.

That's how I stopped the bullying as well. Anyone can act tough until they get punched in the face.

@voltronic

What they can't take is the humiliation.

Later, I once told a towering jock to go eff himself for making fun of my goth friend

And all of his friends started laughing at him. Roaring. "Yeah, that's the way to do it! You tell 'm!" It was like watching his soul leave his body.

😌🤌
