1 of 3 - I've been watching, quietly with the hopes that the tools would be used. I guess now it's time for me to weigh in and say something. Here goes:
Supporting regular Palestinians in Gaza does not make you a Jew-hating Nazi.
Supporting Israel does not make you pro-'genocide' or anti-muslim.
As most of you know, I myself support Israel. And make no attempt to hide it.
But I also run this place. And as such support the notion of folks being allowed to have differing opinions. I have to..
^^^ 2 of 3 - Over recent days I've seen friends of mine and other GOOD people on both sides of this Israel/Gaza conflict going at each other, terminating their accounts, making threats & insinuations against me personally if I don't ban someone else and branding COSO itself as either 'anti-semetic' or 'anti-muslim pro-genocide', depending on who's mad at me for that five minutes.
FTR: I have so far seen no targeted harassment, only opinions that differ.
If I do see such, I will deal with it...
^^^ 3 of 3 - But here's the thing folks - I'm not gonna ban someone b/c they have a differing view, that goes BOTH ways, whether you're pro-Israel or pro-Palestinians.
The tools are there for u to curate what u see, extensively.
On a personal note: I have much dismay over folks that self-immolated their accounts and over those still here not using the tools.
Moderation is hard. Especially when friends are reporting friends.
Don't let anyone say I don't have an even hand though.
Peace.

I have seen some of it, and I'm blocking when I do. The thing I've been noticing more of is using Zionism as a slur.
My fault for not reporting as well; that will change going forward.
@voltronic That's the thing,. As soon as 10/7 happened, I saw "Zionist" being hurled as a stand-in for words which would get you banned. Now? It has replaced those words. @stueytheround @th3j35t3r
