Unconfirmed...

Part of the USN pier at Gaza has reportedly broken off and is drifting north up the coast.

The C-RAM system is on the south side of the pier near the beach, so probably not that.

Based on these images of the completed pier it might be the initial landing stage at the end of the pier.

Which would really suck.

And confirmed (sorta).

Not part of the pier itself, but two of the barges servicing the pier. currently beached on the Israeli coast.

At least it wasn't the actual pier.

What kind of defenses are currently in place for said pier? I'm sure it continues to be a target.

@voltronic Other than the C-RAM I haven't seen any other obvious US defenses. Doesn't mean they aren't there, just that I haven't seen them yet.

IDF 679th Armored Brigade (Reserve) holds that end of the IDF dividing line and is responsible for guarding the pier and landing zone against ground attacks. (map top left below the Championship Club)

(Reserve) is something of a misnomer for the 679th. Most of its members are retired from the elite Egoz special forces unit.
