OK, - I have seen the error of my ways.

I used to think those temperature controlled gooseneck kettles were only necessary if you were doing pour over coffee. Being a long time French press devotee, I thought it wouldn't benefit me much.

Oh, was I wrong. Having the water at exactly 205°F gives a very noticeable upgrade in flavor, with lovely crema to boot! I've been missing out!

@voltronic thanks, just another reason for me to think about a Fellow kettle!

I know that Fellow EKG kettle is well-reviewed, but the Kitchen Boss has a slightly larger capacity and significantly higher wattage, and has the same level of temperature control. The EKG has a timer, but that was not worth the huge price differential in my opinion, and also I needed the larger capacity to brew my full press.

For $165, I would have expected the EKG to be made in the US, but it's made in China just like the Kitchen Boss.

@voltronic good to know. I liked my Cuisinart before it died, and it had a huge capacity.
