Can anyone recommend a good call forwarding service besides Google Voice? Free would be preferable, as I don't plan to use it often.
I know I asked this a year or so back but I can't find the responses - it seems that the search function here only works on usernames and hashtags now.

@voltronic I'd be interested to know if there are any free services for this besides Google. Most are $10-20 a month. And if there are any free services, what are you giving up for that to be free. I've been digging myself out of all things Google lately - it's a lot of work and means I have to pay for services if I want to control them. Please share what you find.
@voltronic I personally use Hushed for this, though it's not free. You can, however, get lifetime memberships fairly cheaply from the Boing Boing store, among other places.
I like to use it to create fake numbers for "text this number to get a free coupon code" nonsense :)
