Some PSAs for new members:
1. This place isn't new, but you may find it refreshing. It has been rocking since 11/17/17.
2. CoSo is a one- operation. Please keep that in mind when making requests.
3. Coso is self-funded, largely by but many of us also pitch in. You can too by becoming a Pro member and/or tossing some cash in the Donorbox. Remember, nothing is "free". There are no ads or promoted content. Remember, you are either the customer or the product.

7. Please use content warnings (the little 'CW') on any posts with graphic or violent imagery, or discussions of violent assaults. This helps protect survivors from having their trauma re-triggered. (See ToS for further clarification.)
8. You curate your own experience here. If someone is posting content that falls within ToS but you don't want to see (ex.
politics) you can mute or block them. Pro tip: Muting with allowing notifications means you'll see posts that person tags you in.

ADDENDUM (since this is frequently asked)
If photos taken by a phone camera come out rotated in your posts: CoSo strips all EXIF data from photos upon upload to help protect your identity and location. This data includes rotation info, among other things. To get them to come out correctly, edit the photos, even a tiny amount of cropping, and then upload.
@voltronic Well put!!! I've personally been reminded of the old fast-scrolling web chat rooms from the late 90s in my time here... Sure, you miss some stuff, but you can pop in and out and see what people are talking about at any given time, scroll back and see some of what you missed.
Except here, you can create sub-streams based on keywords to further narrow down the chat.
@voltronic Thinking of it like a huge chat room has really (to me) made the whole idea seem even more friendly and fun. Just a bunch of people all enjoying it all, and finding sympathetic ears when needed.
@voltronic This was super helpful. Thank you!
I rotate 'em 90º left and then right. Works fine.
@mcfate @voltronic Clever idea.
@voltronic Great thread.
@voltronic works like a charm 😊
@voltronic
So that's what's happening. Duh on me. That makes so much sense. Thank you!
@voltronic Except unlike Hogwarts, we won't help by lightly concussing you with a sword just before a fight. #IAlwaysHatedThatPart
9. You may go through a bit of an adjustment period, and that's OK. Be patient, and ask questions. Help will always be given at Hogwarts...
10. Enjoy talking to REAL people, and have fun!
