@voltronic I think you might like the Soweto Gospel Choir as well. I found I enjoyed a lot of the African music while I was fin South Africa. Peter Tosh is another I enjoy.

Absolutely, I've been a fan of theirs for years. Their performance of Asibonanga always moves me.
I had the great fortune to learn a decent amount of about South African choral music during my undergrad program, straight from people who went to the townships to learn it and brought it back (without notation) to us. It was a huge influence on me.
