I wish the Fazioli F308 was in this shootout, but it's a bit more rare that the others. Listen to recordings by Angela Hewitt if you want to hear what that one sounds like.

It is the same parent company. They make every type of instruments, and do quite a good job of it.

The Yamaha is thin to my ears in the lower register. The notes are there, but the weight is missing.

The Steinway is very full, and lush, but loses a bit of clarity in the chordal passages. I thought it was the best sounding high register instrument.

The Bösendorfer had great weight and authority. I felt this was audible in the mid and higher registers as well. Upper octave performance in the treble passage in test #2 was slightly brittle at one point, but it's my choice.
