NEW: F-Secure’s IDENTITY THEFT CHECKER offers consumers the clearest view they’ve ever had into the kind of dangers they face from data breaches.

@voltronic
One of the biggest breaches was Ashley Madison. If anyone who knew your email address could find out if you had an account there, it could cause serious job and family troubles.
@AlphaCentauri
So I've heard. It wasn't that for me, but a major casino chain. Pretty recent breach, too. What really sucks about that one is that I never had an online account with them, and there was nothing I could have done to help protect my info (password changes, MFA, etc), other than never signing up for a players club card, I suppose.
@voltronic yeah the undisclosed thing is an issue
also
"Collection Combo List" combo list combines data from different breaches into one list
The specific service can therefore not be verified
so it could be a service you've used in past and don't now or one you still use, but hey, in my Brian Mills voice, "good luck" in staying safe
btw running my email on F-Secure and have I been pawned site I actually get the service that F-secure say they can't verify
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
^ I ran all my emails, and two were involved in breaches. One REALLY BAD one showed in the report where a very disturbing amount of my PII was potentially exposed.
The report is simple but effective. What I don't like about the report is that some breach sources are "undisclosed" because of their "sensitive or identifying nature." WTF? I would like to know _everyone_ who has leaked my info, please.
