Stallman is the worst thing that ever happened to open source software.
Not only is he a hack and a perv, he's a grifter. The FSF would be more honestly named "The Society for the Protection and Preservation of Richard Stallman".
I get to take credit for Stallman's being banned from speaking at any Gnome-Foundation-sponsored events after he referred to "EMACS virgins" in his keynote at the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit, defining "any WOMAN who has never used EMACS" and counseling the (95% male) audience that they had a "responsibility" to "relieve" such people of their "virginity".
Yeah. Ew.
Seeing the things he's said, I realize that a lot of the gross tech dudes I've heard spouting similar bullshit in the name of some kind of sexual freedom were just parroting their leader. Not a surprise that they were unoriginal, but I've been enough removed that I didn't know it was Stallman.
