If it was something that can be answered by a canned answer, fine.
In this scenario, I think I'd hope that it was only an initial response and followed up by human contact.
If I'm trying to connect with people, then it's a frustrating barrier... but sometimes barriers are in place to help us be more focused on our work.

Yes, the point was to connect. While I won't hold my breath, will let time do its works, if a more genuine and engaging follow-up will follow, I will consider at that time.
I am enthuse re: AI as an aid, add-on and not as a substitute to human connection, Who knows, perhaps in 3 yrs from now I'll think differently :-)
