Update:
The jaw swelling is a clogged salivary gland.

I've been prescribed an antibiotic, prednisone, and sour candy. The sour candy helps produce a lot of saliva to dislodge the stone clogging the gland.

And if that doesn't work, I need to see an ent doc who might perform minor surgery.

@tyghebright I get this regularly… it’s horrible. I rinse my mouth with warm salt water and apply a heating pad. Mine is caused by dry mouth. I don’t know how severe your case is… but I’ve never taken all that medication. The sour candy works, and I’d try the warm salt water rinse too. Hot tea is good for loosening up the plug too. Hope it’s relieved soon ❤️

Thanks for the info.
Mine is swollen pretty badly and caused lockjaw and difficulty swallowing.

Feels like I have a sloshy water balloon along the bottom of my jaw.

Seems the swelling itself can make it hard for the stone to dislodge.

@tyghebright Ouch! I’m so sorry. I massage just below my ear lobe and with heat and time I get a rush of salty water in my mouth and I know the plug has released. I so hope you’re better soon. I know it’s very painful 🥺❤️❤️❤️
