Anyone in Dallas considering adopting a doggo?

Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center has these and many more--free to adopt.

They are a no-kill shelter and are struggling with capacity.

@tyghebright It would be nice if Texas got a handle on their dog problems, but that probably is another "freedom" issue. Shelters here in Vermont are full of dogs imported from Texas and South Carolina.

Yeah, I used to live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Dallas, and a lot of people there kept dogs for security. They were outdoor animals, not pets... which also meant a lot escaped.

And people would come to the area to dump dogs. This resulted in roving packs.

We would corral any strays who were alone and responsive enough into our yard. A couple we took in ourselves (OMG, the expenses to treat all the issues they had), and called the city to take many others.
