TIL that roughly 10% of Americans identify as vegetarian or vegan.
Just a "how 'bout that." I wouldn't have been able to guess at the correct percentage.

I prefer the term whole food plant based to vegan. Vegan has such a negative connotation, but also, one can eat all junk food and sweets and be vegan. My choice is more about my health.

(Also--sure some vegans are preachy, but I've had MANY more omnivores get offended at me not eating meat and lecturing me than I ever had the other way round when I did eat it.)
