Can anyone recommend a good Tennessee whiskey rub?
Has anyone tried the Historic Lynchburg one?
Side note: are they ever going to change the name of those cities? π¬
2nd side note: why tf are these cases of spices snap/ebt eligible?!? And these were 2 out of 3 total eligible items on the entire page
@ExecutiveFunction404 The SNAP/EBT eligibility is because Amazon and Walmart were quick to sign up for the pilot program for online food delivery/purchase options. Sort of ironic that both of them pay such low wages that many of their employees qualify for those benefits. Closer and closer to the post slavery 'company store' mentality.
@ExecutiveFunction404 @Lucky188 Back when I was a single mother living on financial aid, I bought everything I could in bulk. I only got "paid" twice a year, so my lump sums were high, but I had to live off of 4 to 8 thousand a year (rent was free, had to pay electric). Money was so tight I'd compare the number of sheets on toilet paper rolls and number of loads in laundry soap to see how long it would last for everything I bought. I wouldn't have made it without bulk.
@ExecutiveFunction404 @Lucky188 This is true, I could only do the bulk thing because of how financial aid is set up. I recognized and appreciated that I could do that, and there have been times a lack of transportation meant I could only use a corner store. I didn't have internet at home either, and had to shop at school. It's a damn shame how many barriers some people have between them and basic needs.
@ExecutiveFunction404 @tippitiwichet EBT has some weird rules - wonder if the ones that have wiskey in their names are the non eligable ones. I read an article recently that said Ebt could buy plants for the garden and seeds. Since they lead to food eventually.
@Lucky188 @ExecutiveFunction404 Yup. I just posted an article that mentioned you can buy live herbs in the produce isle with them and root them as well. I was on food stamps when they started doing that, but my garden was already full of free plants. You can even buy the seeds and live plants with foodstamps on Amazon. Prime is half price for food stamp people, so free shipping for people in food desserts. One of the reasons I don't consider Amazon to be fully evil.
I wouldn't have even thought about that. That's some good brainstorming! But, looking back, they all have whiskey in the name. So idk. It's just odd.
That's pretty cool to learn about the seeds & plants! Thanks for sharing that info. I wonder if all states allow that π€
@ExecutiveFunction404 @tippitiwichet Actually looking art the adverts Whiskey is in the one that is SNAP EBT so that's not it. Could also be if it is fulfilled by Amazon or a SNAP registered vendor.
@Lucky188 @ExecutiveFunction404 Yes, it depends on who fulfills it and if it has a nutrition label. If it doesn't scan at the register and it has a nutrition label in a store, you can challenge it anyway. A manager can force it through or something, I don't recall the details. As for plants not on Amazon, it's the same thing, depends on if the seller is equipped to do EBT, so not at garden stores.
That's really interesting and added to my #TIL
I love adding new info to the vault π©·

You def stretched your money that way! That's the way to do it, if you can. I've always said that people with less money typically spend so much more on essentials than those who are more comfortable. They usually can't spend the little money received on bulk items, which just makes everything cost more, especially if you can only shop at a corner bodega.
