Hey table top gamers, this page has impressive wooden puzzles for a steam punk looking dice tower, deck box, dice keeper, card keeper, and game master's screen. Being wood, they can be painted :).

@mcfate Dang! I just fell madly in love with this Tellurion that has a stop motion flappy bird and would help me teach my kiddo so much. Perhaps I'll find another one somewhere else.
Well, I'd say it depends on how much you like it and how willing you are to possibly waste $57.
Looking at the photos, I'm not noticing any of the gripes I have with my kit — mostly gripes around things like the escapement and generally using toothpicks for axles — with this one.
I think this is an easier mechanism than a timer. This isn't (I guess) spring-driven, and there's nothing like an escapement. All the axles look solid.
This one gets good ratings, and my ratings-rater says they're legit, for whatever that's worth.
This is the kit I got, the rating's lower. I'm with the guy with the two-star review who does watch repair on this one, "it looks good on a shelf".

@mcfate Looking in the reviews for the one I like, I see some reassuring comments. I've been rethinking the birthday present I asked for and might ask for this instead. I think I like it enough to risk it. It even has the seasons marked, and would be so valuable in showing the kiddo how it all works. I think I'll take the gamble :)
@tippitiwichet
I personally have not had a stellar experience with the one UGEARS kit I built. I bought their 20-minute timer kit, I've never managed to get it to run.
ROKR kits are better-produced, in my opinion. Sadly, they don't make a timer, though.
No idea if they make the DnD stuff you describe, either. If it's not stuff with moving parts, UGEARS might be just fine for all I know.
