Reading a book that says the movie Poltergeist is criticized in horror circles because "nothing ever happens" and they must have had their hands over their eyes the whole time. Or maybe are the kind of person who thought The Ring was scarier than Ringu because you don't have to read subtitles.
@MariaAragon64 Hit the parents too, that whole child ripped away into the unknown twists deep.
@MariaAragon64 That's a perfect description! I first saw it at 13, right at the beginning of the days of renting films from the local video shop, and it scared the living daylights out of me and I never watched it again...
... until I showed it to my 15yo daughter last Halloween and she laughed through most of it 🤣
@BillyBones @MariaAragon64 Ah, kids. These stinkers will never understand the magic of Pacman, Ferris Beuler, the betrayal of Mili Vanilli, or how scandelous Madonna was. Take pity, they know not what they have lost.
@tippitiwichet Hahaha. As a Brit I was often intrigued as to how Milli Vanilli flopped once the truth came out. After all, the guy behind them got it so right with Boney M 🤣
And Ferris was on my list, but I showed her the trailer and her reaction was "Oh. Okkkkk then" 😂
@tippitiwichet Poltergeist? The one with the tree eating the kid, the girl getting sucked into the TV, the house changing, dude pulling his own face off, telekinetic ghost tornadoes, giant walking skeletons, and the whole house imploding?
Wow. What a lot of nothing there was.
@AskTheDevil Right! Like, how jaded is this person?!
@tippitiwichet
The original poltergeist kind of played Bingo with so many childhood fears: clowns, dolls, closets, that creepy tree outside your window....
