There's this doll I have, a porcelain one found in a family member's attic. It was restored and put into clothing from the time period it was from. She was appraised at $4,000 USD in the early 80s, worth more now. Family wars were waged over ownership of the doll, I somehow ended up with it, despite not caring about it, and I don't talk to a single family member any more. I'm so tempted to see how much money I could raise for a charity if I promised to set it on fire.

@tippitiwichet those dolls have always scared the bejesus out of me. they kinda remind me of animals that have been thru the hands of a taxidermist.

i think it's b/c of the eyes. 😩 😬

@singlemaltgirl This is true, but as a horror fan, she's oddly not creepy enough for me. I took that photo shortly after getting her, it was the creepiest I could do without adding dirt to her or digitally altering her. I was disappointed, lol. I should have remembered to put a content warning on her though, need to remember to do that if I post her again.

@tippitiwichet it's funny. i used to be a horror fan. there was no movie that was too creepy/scary/gory or terrifying. as a child, i would watch all those b movies on late night tv. never scared. the only 1 that did scare me was the exorcist. otherwise, i was cool as a cuke.

nowadays, i'm not scared so much as not interested. though some things look ghoulish & i'd prefer not to look at them. clowns & those dolls are close to the top of that list.

i'm old or something. 🙄
